    The process of joining the Azov Brigade

    Stage 1

    Fill out the application form. Specify your preferred area of service within Azov.

    Stage 2

    Receive a call from our call center.

    Stage 3

    Arrange a time and place for your interview at one of our recruitment centers or take an online interview.

    Stage 4

    Arrive at the recruitment center.

    Stage 5

    Submit the following required documents:

    • Passport copy;
    • Identification number copy;
    • Copies of educational certificates with appendices; 
    • Military ID (original); if not applicable — a copy of conscription registration certificate; 
    • Certificate of no criminal record;
    • Certificate of family membership and place of residence;
    • Reference letter from the most recent employer;
    • Printed autobiography;
    • Birth certificate;
    • Death certificates of immediate family members; 
    • Photos 3×4 cm; 
    • Photos 9×12 cm;
    • Banking certificate with account details (card for payments).
    Stage 6

    Complete our 6-8 weeks basic combat training course (BCTC).

    Stage 7

    Join the preferred unit within the brigade or choose your area of service after the BCTC.

    Stage 8

    Become a part of the Azov family.

    Take an offline interview (if you are in Ukraine) or an online interview (if you are abroad).

    Stage 4

    Submit the following documents.

    If you are in Ukraine:

    1. Passport + copies of all pages with visas (translation to be provided by the candidate);
    2. After submitting these, the applicant must sign and date the following two documents: Consent form for the processing of personal data for a security background check, Request for a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine;
    3. Copy of military ID (if applicable);
    4. Photos (3×4 cm and 9×12 cm);
    5. Copy of driving license (if applicable);
    6. Copies of previous contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine or proof of service in the candidate’s native country (such as DD214);
    7. Identification number (to be obtained in Ukraine);
    8. Bank account number (to be opened in Ukraine).

    If you are not in Ukraine:

    1. Send a high-quality scanned copy of your passport page with your photo;
    2. Sign and date the following forms, make a scanned copy of them, and send them to the recruitment officer managing your case: Consent form for the processing of personal data for a security background check, Request for a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. If the three abovementioned documents are provided, the passport will be translated by the brigade;
    3. Copy of driving license (if applicable);
    4. Photos (3×4 cm and 9×12 cm);
    5. Certification documents (medical/tactical training, etc.);
    6. Copies of educational certificates;
    7. Identification number (to be obtained in Ukraine);
    8. Bank account number (to be opened in Ukraine).

    Sign your contract.

    Complete training:

    • Up 2 months for candidates with prior experience;
    • Up to 3 months for candidates with no prior experience.

    FAQ

    At what age can you join Azov?

    You can join the 12th Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine from the age of 18.

    How long does the basic combat training course last?

    The BCTC lasts approximately 6-8 weeks. We take great care in training our personnel, thoroughly preparing recruits for combat missions. For the NGU Azov Brigade, professionalism, unit coordination, and the value of each individual soldier have always been priorities.

    If i transfer to the unit, do i still need to complete the BCTC?

    Military personnel transferring to our brigade must pass entry-level fitness standards. If they fail, they must undergo the BCTC.

    What type of contract and for how long?

    Foreigners are eligible for a three-year contract that includes the option to terminate after six months of service.

    What documents are required?

    1. Copy of passport (all pages); if it’s an ID card, include the supplement.
    2. Copy of taxpayer identification number (TIN).
    3. Original enlistment certificate/military ID (must be registered with the military commissariat).
    4. Photos: 3×4 cm — 4 pcs., 9×12 cm — 1 pc.
    5. Copy of diploma/certificate of education (secondary specialized, higher), plus a transcript with grades.
    6. Bank account details (preferably PrivatBank or Oschadbank; the card should be “For Payments”).
    7. Criminal record certificate from Diia (Full Version).
